Some of these links are affiliate links, which means that I may get reimbursement if you use that link to purchase the product. Those are marked with asterisks (*). Anything marked with an affiliate link I have used myself and am pleased with them. Among the items that do not have affiliate links, there are a few resources that I've only used a time or two, but in those cases, I know other people who use them (unless noted otherwise).

I use herbal remedies, myself, though not always the ones my characters use, because different ones work best for different people. It’s always intrigued me, but I only delved into it a few years ago after I accidentally cured my own lung infection. (Long story.)

This page will be updated as I find more things to recommend.

Bulk Ingredients:

Mountain Rose Herbs*
Notes: Bulk herbs, spices, teas, and essential oils. Also sells tools for using them, as well as some cosmetic items and culinary oils. Most if not all items are organic. *Affiliate link.
Upsides: Resealable packaging. Selection—you name an herb, spice, or essential oil, and they likely have it. Most items I've checked against other e-stores are about the same price or cost less at Mountain Rose Herbs—but not all, so it's best to price-check. Their customer service personnel are very knowledgeable about what they offer; they package their products well; and on the rare time when there is a problem with something, they're eager to fix things. Items are packaged before sending and are labeled with the month and year, which is useful for keeping track of how long an item lasts you.
Downsides: Shipping can be pricy, which is actually normal for these places, but they are generous with the packaging material. Their extracts have rice, wheat, and corn contamination. (They use whatever distilled alcohol they have available.) Only ships to the US and Canada.
Nuts.com
Notes: More for bulk flours, fruits, and nuts rather than herbs and spices.
Upsides: Good prices, great selection, and speedy shipping. When they add a sample to an order, they evidently pay attention to what's in it—putting a gluten-free sample with an order of gluten-free items, for example. Their website also makes it easy to find things that are specifically gluten-free or kosher—and the gluten-free flour mix is rice-free! (I'm rice intolerant.)
Downsides: My experience with this company is limited to two orders so far: one placed by me, one by my mother. So the sample size is, er, tiny.
San Francisco Herb Company
Note: I can't use this company for allergy reasons, but one of my friends has used this company for years. She loves it.
Upsides: Better prices on some things than some of the other stores. International shipping available.
Downsides: Tree nut contamination. Items come in non-resealable bags. Fewer options. Requires purchase of larger quantities, usually in 1-lb. bags. Also requires an order to be of a minimum monetary amount ($30 US, as of this writing).
Ingredients to Die For
Note: I can't use this company for allergy reasons, but before I was quite so sensitive I used them and loved the experience.
Upsides: Better prices on oils and other things cosmetic-related things than some of the other stores.
Downsides: Contamination. Pretty much, if there's something you can't touch and need to make sure there's no contamination, they can't promise they can do that, and they'll cancel your order and say so.
Starlight Herb and Spice Co.
Note: I've not used this company, myself, but looking at their site, their process and offerings seem good.
Upsides: Don't know. Have you tried 'em?
Downsides: Don't know. Have you tried 'em?

Learning:

Eat the Weeds
Notes: Blog featuring various wild edibles.
Upsides: Photos and pointers of how to tell the current item from look-alikes.
Downsides: I just discovered the site, so I've not explored it much yet.
LearningHerbs
Note: Many of the classes and information on this site costs money, but I do believe it's worth using.
Upsides: Lots of information compiled into one source.
Downsides: Much of that information isn't free.

Miscellaneous Other:

A Small Orange*
Note: Best web host I've found, with what you get for the price, and their customer service is fantastic. (Go over on your bandwidth for a month? Pay a reasonable fee to add bandwidth to that month, if it's a one-time accident, or upgrade your plan right then.) *Affiliate link.
Upsides: Price, convenience, ease of use.
Downsides: I think their servers are in the US. So… Big brother may be watching.
